Glamour Magazine: The Hunger Games Issue with Jennifer Lawrence

Glamour magazine's April issue featured Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games". She was transformed from the gutsy hunter into a sexy babe modeling the likes of Yves Saint Laurent, Michael Kors, Roberto Cavalli, Lulu Frost, and Marc Jacobs. She looked particularly good in the jumpsuit.

Like the photos, the article was quite interesting as well. She seems like a really nice down to earth person who just happened to win the lottery at a very young age.

As she tells the interviewer, she had already read and, as a fan, was worried about the story's transformation from page to big screen. But after meeting the director, Gary Ross, and reading the script, which was co-written by the author of the hit book trilogy, Suzanne Collins, she was more than willing to try for the roll.

I found her very likable from what I read in the article. I have already seen the movie so I know she acted the part well. You can read the review down below. I want to hang out with her now. She seems pretty awesome. Gotta love a girl that doesn't like to diet.

I don't know if there will ever be a "Peniss" (lol, that is the funniest conjoined couple name ever! For those of you wondering it's Peeta and Katniss combined.) coupling in real life like there was for Twilight, but Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta in the movie, is so adorable and they're both single (as far as I know) so it would be kind of cute to see them together!

There were other articles in the magazine that were a good read as well as informative (like the gun robber one in the corner) but this is the only one I felt like blogging about.

Kim Kardashian is Extra Sexy in Allure

I just got this in the mail today: Allure Magazine March 2012.





I noticed the cover, then that the magazine seemed slightly thicker than usual - wow, articles for once!

The thing I noticed the most?

Kim Kardashian manages to make herself appear extra sexy on the cover of this month's issue of Allure magazine.

I shouldn't bare a grudge, it is her only and singular talent.

I do like the fact that she seems to be a whole woman (whether or not she's actually had implants put in is besides the point - personally, I don't think she has).



She's not overly thin and waifish, like high fashion models. I think high fashion designers need to consider designing with real human people involved, but I don't think that will happen until more of the models start dying off.


She isn't overweight, although I know she has a nice workout that most of us regular mortals can't afford either with time or money.


It's not necessarily a bad thing. Women should be proud of their bodies and how they make others feel while wandering the earth.




I'm in between liking her and being exacerbated by her.

These people don't seem to have aspirations or goals of any kind. Although they already have a bunch of television shows and a fashion company, have had multiple televised weddings and several children. There doesn't seem much left over.

When the story first broke out that their companies might be abusing child labor laws in sweatshops overseas, everyone just seemed to believe it because the Kardashians are not known for their intelligence or their ability to look into things very carefully, though their father was a famous lawyer.

I'm not sure if they would consider doing something 'political'. Even something as benign as eating healthy or free speech or ....I've run out of things that they might be able to comprehend or use to their advantage.

I don't mind the Kardashian family, but they're going to have to start doing more than have their sister appear almost nude every two days to stay relevant in people's minds. Unless they want to fade away like so many other reality stars....

There are a few pages interspersed throughout the magazine dedicated to Kim Kardashian's makeup and beauty routine, obviously because Allure is mostly a makeup and beauty magazine. Most of it involves going to specialists.

There are a few products talked about - Monoi Hair Mask from Carol's Daughter and Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Surabaya, just to name a few. She's really finicky about her nails - she gets them done once or twice a week. And, of course, there is a specific mention of her butt and how she gets it the way it looks - "I work out with Gunnar Peterson. Pilates and squats. I love to mix it up." I wouldn't mind having her derriere.

The article itself is short. Consists of Kardashian talking about her family, the possibility of another marriage, the possibility of children and family of her own, and interesting tidbits about her relationship with her belated father. She even mentioned that after her divorce from Kris Humphries, she went without makeup for nearly two months. "No lashes, no glam, no heels," says Kardashian.

I wouldn't buy the magazine for this article (unless you're a huge Kardashian fan), but there are a number of other articles in it that are interesting and informative - in particular, "16 Great Stress Busters - Surprising Ways to Relax" was very helpful and amusing.
