"The Great Gatsby" Moved!!!

'The Great Gatsby' moving to Summer 2013

(EW) -- Looks like the mercurial Jay Gatsby will remain mysteriously out of reach for a bit longer.

Warner Bros. announced today that "The Great Gatsby," director Baz Luhrmann's 3-D adaptation of the seminal novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, has been pushed to Summer 2013.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role, along with Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, and Joel Edgerton, the film had been slated to open on Christmas day this year. No specific new date was indicated.

In announcing the change, Warner Bros. president of distribution Dan Fellman lauded Luhrmann's singular visual style. "We think moviegoers of all ages are going to embrace it, and it makes sense to ensure this unique film reaches the largest audience possible," he said in a statement.

International distribution chief Veronika Kwan Vanderberg added that the studio believes "The Great Gatsby" "will be the perfect summer movie around the world."

The film would have gone head to head with Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," which also stars DiCaprio in a supporting role as the cruel owner of a plantation in the pre-Civil War south.

My reaction: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I HATE YOU WARNER BROTHERS! THAT WAS GONNA BE A CHRISTMAS GIFT TO MYSELF!!!!

Leonardo DiCaprio.

"History of A Suicide" Book Review

History of a Suicide: My Sister's Unfinished LifeHistory of a Suicide: My Sister's Unfinished Life by Jill Bialosky
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so sad, as you can imagine just by reading the title. The pain in these passages of grief has cured me of any desire or thought of an unnatural end for myself. I would never in a million years want to place that blame, sorrow, aching horror on anyone I know. As for the suicide note, for me, there would never be enough time or words to explain to the people in my life what they have meant to me and to thank them for what they have done for me. I'd much rather be with them in the long run and to tell them myself if I plucked up the courage. I'll still have depression, for a while at least, and it may be crippling some days, but I'll fight it. This may have been TMI for many people who might read this review, but this book has touched me and inspired me to be stronger than I am now. It is a shame to learn it from the pain someone else had and still is experiencing from a loss that can only be explained through possibilities and "what ifs" because the central figure is no longer there to say why it happened and why for them it couldn't have been helped or stopped.

Dear FYE VIP Backstage Pass

Dear F. Y. E. VIP Backstage Pass:

After trying to cancel my membership for the second time, I have decided to never purchase anything at your stores again. The reason being:

1) your "pass" sucks,

2) the fee that I get when I don't want the damn card in the first place is even worse,

3) and you hire people with really rich accents to delay my canceling the card when I call that service number to do so.

I don't mind people with accents (I'm usually pretty good at understanding them actually) but over the phone it is quite a bit harder to understand them. Especially when all you want to do is cancel a stupid card I never wanted to get in the first place and the operator keeps trying to make you not cancel the card and that makes me want to kill things. Like your business.

I understand that you want to take money out of people's pockets to stay afloat and in business, because of all of those other stores that sell the same products (and sometimes they sell for cheaper in those different stores) and all of those tempting online services like Amazon and Netflix, (I actually could go on and on, but I don't know all of the services out there so I can't. I will remedy that as soon as possible now.)

For the record, I would rather speak to a robot than someone who is possibly 8000 fucking miles away from here when trying to get rid of your pathetic services.

I hope one day soon you will go out of business, like all of the other stores that no longer have a place in our economy and our lives. I will be there at the funeral, shoveling the dirt on your coffin before the priest has even gotten there.

Sincerely,
Kara

P. S. For those who would like to cancel their VIP cards, here's the number where you can call what's-her-fake-english-name and have fun trying to cancel it: 1-877-351-2131
